Education and Outreach



While the American Documentary Film Festival itself is held over a 5-day period each spring, AmDocs is a year-round event, carrying out a variety of screenings, education and outreach activities throughout the year. These activities take several forms:

  • Seminars and panels during the 5-day Festival

  • Monthly Highlight screenings between April and November each year

  • Free monthly screenings at area senior centers

  • Periodic special events in conjunction with area community organizations

  • Ongoing collaboration with area primary and secondary educational institutions

AmDocs has collaborated with a variety of educational and community outreach organizations in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley., including the Palm Springs Unified School District, Palm Springs Public Library, Tour De Palm Springs, Modernism Week, Jewish Family Services, Rancho Mirage Public Library, Mizell Senior Center, the Cathedral Center, California State University, San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses, College Of The Desert, Musical Theater University, Boys and Girls Clubs, Marquee Academy of Performing Arts, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Parkinson’s Resource Organization and others.
